Clinical Scenarios in Reconstructive Microsurgery

Abstract

Extensive composite head and neck defects are challenging because they encompass different anatomical and functional structures which need a meticulous repair. Furthermore, the longer-survival rates as well as the use of combine modalities for local tumor control have added additional surgical difficulty in these patients which commonly present complex vessel-depleted necks. Here a related case report is presented step by step to show a systematic medical approach, several technical tips, and additional reconstructive options.
