Abstract

The importance of obtaining accurate and reliable data applies to any system that produces measurement data, whether it is chemical, biological, or physical. There are numerous internationally recognized standards and guidelines that help in ensuring valid data when developing a new measuring system. This chapter takes the reader through some of those standards, taking examples from the area of food analysis.
